Legynds Boys standout Bryce Dixon is headed to the Bayou.

Bryce announced recently that he has committed to play at the next level for The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The three-star forward out of The Colony High was also holding offers from Illinois, Cal and Mississippi State, among others, but ultimately built a strong relationship with LA Tech coach Talvin Hester during the recruiting process that led him to choose the Dunkin’ Dogs.

Speaking to Louisiana Tech’s Bleed Tech Blue, Bryce explained that Louisiana Tech made him feel at home and prioritized him throughout the process.

“I chose Louisiana Tech because the coaching staff is very family oriented and that’s what I was looking for in a coaching staff,” he said. “My mom and I also felt the same positive vibe we felt when I went on my unofficial visit which also impacted the decision. They have also been there from the beginning and stuck by me, they never gave up on me no matter if I had a bad game or great game, that means a lot especially with the program being as good as they are.”

Louisiana Tech is coming off its second consecutive 20-win season under Hester. The Dunkin’ Dogs will also be returning to the Sun Belt Conference for the first time since 2001. They left the conference for the WAC, where they played for 12 years, then moved on to Conference USA for another 12. The move back to the Sun Belt has Tech thinking NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1991 and Bryce is excited to contribute to sustained success at Louisiana Tech in the future, starting with his freshman season in 2026-27.

“Coach Hester plays freshman, if you’re ready, so that stuck out to me,” he said. “I want to be able to touch the court as quick as possible in college.”
