Legynds Basketball Club participated in Nike’s annual Peach Jam across multiple age groups, and with a few stand out prospects primed for breakout seasons in the future; the sky is the limit for this young program.
15U only grabbed one win at Peach Jam, but when the going got tough at one of the largest prep basketball tournaments, Rodney Washington (Class of 2028) was one of the most explosive scorers in the 15U division. The walking bucket averaged 23.8 PPG at the Peach Jam while playing nearly 30 minutes per game. He added 4.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.2 steals a game, showing he can affect all aspects of the game. Attacking at all three levels effectively and connecting on jumpers, Washington consistently got defenders on their heels as he proved he could score in bunches.
David Douglas was also an excellent contributor for Legynds at Peach Jam, finishing with 20 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per games and 3.8 assists per game while shooting better than 50 percent from the field.
Legynds 17U fielded a team in the Peach Jam Invitational, where only top programs are invited to prove themselves, and picked up a pair of wins in some super close games. DeShawn Denson II (Class of 2026) proved to be a steady contributor. He averaged 12.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in addition to his calm 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. His effectiveness was clearly reflected in his ability to command the floor while scoring and playing strong defense (1.2 SPG); he’s an all-around player. His ability to control pace, get others involved, and defend shows that Denson has great instincts on both ends of the floor and has a lot of collegiate potential.
Denson, Washington and Douglas are living proof of Legynds prestige and rising talent, a trip of players poised to build on their success this summer during their high school seasons and beyond.
