All three Legynds programs made the mid-May trip to Memphis, Tennessee to test themselves against some of the best in the Nike session circuit.
The 17u team picked up a pair of wins in EYCL action. They opened the weekend with a 66-54 win over UPLay White led by 15 points from DJ Rhodes and 14 from Javier Richards. Xzavier Mbroh added 11 and Josiah Ankara pitched in 10. The next game was a tough 67-60 loss to Middleton Hoops despite 16 points from Mekhi Wofford on 6/8 from the field and a balanced 11-point, 5-assist and 4-rebound performance from Chauncey Cravens. A 67-58 loss to Rens United followed.
But Legynds bounced back to close the weekend with a dominant 110-66 victory over Howard Pulley. Every player on the team got in on the scoring action with six scoring in double figures. Rhodes was the catalyst, pouring in 33 points on 12/18 from the field. Ankrah added 19 on 8/12 with four assists and three rebounds, Richards added 16 with 12 boards and Julian Wilson had 13, 7 and 7. Wofford and Brennan Malone also had 10 points each.

At the 16U level, the results were similar but different. The weekend was bookended by losses, but in between, the EYBL boys showed some big time potential with two big wins. Friday’s loss to Mac Irvin Fire was a close one, with Legynds falling by three 66-63 despite 14 points from Elijah Bryant and a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double by DeUntrey Parker. They rebounded on Saturday with a 55-47 win over MOKAN Elite. Three players, Parker, Bryant and Marceles Duncan each scored 13 points in the victory.
They followed that up with a 64-59 win over MeanStreets. Duncan was the star in that game with 22 points on 7/13 while Bryant and Caden Miller each scored 12 points in the victory. In the finale, a 76-56 loss to AB Elite, big man Dylan Betts shined with 15 points on 7/11, six rebounds and three blocks.
At 15U, it was a tough weekend highlighted by a big 63-54 win over MeanStreets in which Timothy Young scored 18 points on 6/13 with six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Ajani Jones added 13 points and Luke Noles had 12.
