The Legynds boys basketball teams made a strong statement during Session 2 of the Nike EYBL/EYCL in Memphis, Tennessee, with standout performances from several players across all age groups.

The 17U team went undefeated over the weekend, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record in EYCL action.

They opened the weekend with a 65-60 victory over Middleton Elite and followed that with an 87-60 win over PG Elite and a 79=52 win over Play White before finishing the weekend with a 69-45 W over Howard Pulley.

Legynds 17U was led by four-star Class of 2026 prospect Bryce Dixon, who showcased his scoring ability with terrific shooting and explosive slashes to the basket as the team dominated on both ends of the court.

Julius Wilson was also a key contributor, adding to the team’s depth with his all-around game.

The 16U teams faced some tough competition in EYBL action, finishing 2-2 overall, but they responded to each loss with a victory to even their record. Class of 2027 standout Jacques Mitchell went off for 20 points in the opener, but Legynds was defeated by UPlay, 75-61.

They bounced back with a 68-61 W over Team Final. Lucai Anderson paced the team with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting in that contest while Mitchell pitched in 13 points, six rebounds. five assists and a steal. Dallas Lowe added 13 points in the win.

The next game was one of the best of the weekend, a back and forth affair with Team Herro. Legynds came up on the short end of a 65-64 score, but it wasn’t through lack of effort. Memphis Duffie scored 20 points, Anderson added 15 and Mitchell pitched in 14 points with seven boards and five assists.

Despite that loss, the team closed the weekend strong, picking up a 90-76 victory over USC Unleashed. Anderson was again the top scorer with 23 and finished the session averaging 14.2 points per game. Mitchell tallied 18 points on 8-for-13 from the field and added a team-best eight boards. His 16.2 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game and 3.8 assists per game were all team highs.

Memphis Duffie also scored 17 points in the finale and averaged 14 points per game while also pitching in 2.8 steals per contest.

Brennan Malone was another standout from the weekend for 16U.

While finishing the weekend 2-2, the 16U squad showed off an explosive offense and held their own against top-tier teams and with their high-scoring attack, averaging over 70 points per game, they remain a team to watch as the season progresses.

At the 15U level, Legynds posted a 3-1 record, starting things off with a 66-60 victory over UPlay.

Kingston Gould led the way in the opener, scoring 19 points on 9-of-16 while David Douglas added 16 points on 6-of-11 and Rodney Washington scored 15 points and added seven rebounds.

After a tough loss to Team Final in their second game, despite 22 points from Washington, Legynds responded with a 70-55 victory over Team Herro. Douglas paced the team with 23 points on 10-for-16 and Washington once again scored 22 points in the win.

Washington balled out one more time in the finale, scoring 31 points on 11-of-22 shooting. He finished with an average of 22.5 points per game, which ranks third in E15.

Garrett Smith saved his best for last with 16 points on 8-of-11 and a team-high eight rebounds in a 74-71 W over Indy Heat.

Timothy Youngโ€™s playmaking and scoring were also vital for 15U as he orchestrated the offense and played tough defense, helping the team remain competitive throughout the weekend.
